How do I receive a wire payment?
Receiving a wire payment to your BMO account? Make sure the sender includes the following information for payments in:
Canadian dollars (CAD):
- Your full name and address as it appears on your bank account
- Your 11-digit bank account number, without spaces or dashes (this is your four-digit branch transit number and your seven-digit BMO account number)
- Beneficiary Bank is Bank of Montreal
- U.S and international senders – use SWIFT BIC code BOFMCAM2XXX
- Domestic senders – use Canadian Clearing (CC) code CC0001##### where CC0 is the standard code, 001 is BMO’s institution number and ##### is the 5-digit branch transit number where the account is held
U.S. dollars (USD):
- Your full name and address as it appears on your bank account
- Your 11-digit bank account number, without spaces or dashes (this is your four-digit branch transit number and your seven-digit BMO bank account number)
- Beneficiary Bank is Bank of Montreal
- U.S and international senders - use SWIFT BIC code BOFMCAM2XXX
- Domestic senders – use Canadian Clearing (CC) code CC0001##### where CC0 is the standard code, 001 is BMO’s bank institution number and ##### is the 5-digit branch transit number where the account is held
- Correspondent Bank is Wells Fargo Bank N.A
- Canadian and international senders – use SWIFT BIC code PNBPUS3NNYC
- U.S senders – use Fedwire ABA code 026005092 or CHIPS code 0509
All other currencies:
- Your full name and address as it appears on your bank account
- Your 11-digit bank account number without spaces or dashes (this is your four-digit branch transit number and your seven-digit BMO bank account number; this is the same as the IBAN code)
- Beneficiary Bank is Bank of Montreal
- Use SWIFT BIC code BOFMCAM2XXX
