To use DepositEdge on your Mac, you need to use a Panini scanner, with the most popular being the mI:Deal model.
If you have administrator rights on your Mac, here’s how to install and register your Panini scanner with DepositEdge.

Step 1: Connect your scanner
Power on your scanner and connect it to your computer.
Step 2: Download your scanner certificate
For your scanner to work with your Mac, you’ll need a certificate. Here’s how you download it:
In the top left corner of your Mac’s desktop, select the Apple icon and choose System Preferences .
Select the Network icon.
Ensure you have the following settings:
Next to “Configure IPv4”, select Using DHCP with manual address .
Next to “IP Address”, enter 192.168.4.196 .
In your Safari browser, enter https://192.168.4.1 into the address bar to load the Panini scanner configuration page.
Select Configuration .
Click the Connection Parameters Setup link.
Next to “USB Mode”, select RNDIS (TCP/IP over USB) .
Next to “Ethernet”, select Enabled .
Click Next .
At the bottom of the page, next to “HTTPS”, select Default certificate .
In the “HTTPS” section, click the Root CA Certificate Download (PEM Format) link.
Once the file has downloaded, select Set Configuration .
Restart your scanner by selecting the Reboot .
When prompted, confirm the reboot by selecting OK .
Success! You have downloaded your scanner certificate and saved your settings by rebooting your scanner.
Step 3: Add your scanner certificate
Now, let’s make sure your Mac trusts the scanner certificate.
In your “Downloads” folder, double-click the file PaniniV2CA-Cert.pem
In “Keychain Access”, open the Panini Certification Authority V2 certificate.
Expand the “Trust” section and, next to "When using this certificate", set the dropdown next to Always Trust .
Close the window.
When prompted, enter your Mac's password and select Update Settings .
Success! Your certificate has been added to your Mac’s Keychain.
Step 4: Register your scanner
In the final step, we’ll register your scanner with DepositEdge.
Access BMO DepositEdge:
Via Online Banking for Business:
In the Online Banking for Business, choose the Payments & Receivables tab.
Under 'DepositEdge', select BMO DepositEdge
Via direct link:
Select the Registration tab.
In the scanner list, choose Panini mIDeal . Note: If you're updating your software for the same scanner, you'll need to first unlock the fields by selecting the Re-Register button.
Next to “Scanner Host”, enter 192.168.4.1
To complete the setup, select Register.
Note: If you unplug your scanner, you'll have to re-register it again.
