How do I create a PIN for an RSA SecurID hard token?
To set up your hard token, follow these steps:
Getting started
Step 1: Choose your token
If you’ve been assigned multiple tokens, you’ll be prompted to choose the one you want to set up now. For a hard token, select Physical hard token.
If you only have one — simply select your token from the dropdown and then select Continue.
Step 2: Create your PIN
In this step, you’ll need to have your browser window open with the RSA SecurID setup steps open, as well as the RSA SecurID physical token so you can enter information from it.
You’ve now created your PIN. You’ll use this each time you’re asked to generate a passcode. Remember, your PIN doesn’t change so keep a record of it in a safe place.
Step 3: Test your token
This is your final step. To complete your token setup, please enter your six-digit PIN, immediately followed by the six digits displayed on your hard token, for a combined 12-digit code. For example, if your PIN is 111111, and the hard token displays 222222, enter 111111222222 into the SecurID passcode field.
You’ll use these steps below every time we ask you to. If you cancel the setup now, you’ll have to start over next time.
Success! Your RSA SecurID token is now set up and ready to use to confirm your identity.
