How do I create users in BMO DepositEdge?

As an administrator, you can create new DepositEdge users in Online Banking for Business. You can either start from scratch or copy an existing user. How to copy a user

Here’s how to create one from scratch:

  1. In Online Banking for Business, choose the Administration tab.
  2. Under “User Management”, select Create User.

Step 1: Profile Setup

  1. In the “User Information” section, fill in all required fields and select Next.
    Note: The email address will be used for password resets.
  2. In the “Profile” section, under “User Type”, select if you’re creating a user or administrator.
  3. In the “Secondary Authentication” section, you can select a method for your user or administrator. Note: Secondary Authentication is mandatory to release payments and to make user changes.
  4. Once you’re ready, select Next.

Step 2: Entitlements Setup  

      7. At this point, you can assign entitlements to the user. You can do this by choosing one of the following options: 

          a) Add the user to a group, so the user inherits the same entitlements as the group.  
          b) Copy the entitlements from a group without adding the user to the group.  
          c) Copy the entitlements from another user.  
          d) Start from scratch to manually assign entitlements to the user.  

     8. Once you’re ready, select Review or Next. 

Step 3: Adding BMO DepostiEdge

     9. Now let’s add “BMO DepositEdge” by checking the box next to it. 
   10. If you want the user to receive email alerts for all deposits, confirm that the toggle is set to Yes
   11. Most services will have your company’s standard settings applied. To customize the service settings for this user: 
        a) In the “Settings” column next to BMO DepositEdge, select Company Standard
        b) Select the roles you want to assign to the user, then select Save. User roles for BMO DepositEdge 
   12. Select Next.

Step 4: BMO Accounts Setup

   13. Under “Accounts”, you can see the accounts this user has access to by selecting Company Standard
         Note: All eligible accounts will be entitled by default. 
   14. To add or remove accounts, check or uncheck the box next to the relevant account. 
   15. Select Save
   16. Select Review to move to the final step.

     Step 5: Finishing User Setup 

   17. Review your user’s settings. To make changes to any section, select Modify.  
   18. When you’re finished, select Complete at the bottom of the page. 
   19. When prompted, confirm your identity with your preferred 2-step verification method. What is 2-step verification?
