Receiving a wire payment

 To receive a wire payment provide the sender the following information

For Payments from within Canada:

  • Beneficiary account number, name, and address
  • 11 digit beneficiary branch transit and account number.  The branch transit is 4 digits and account number is 7 digits.
  • Beneficiary Bank: Bank of Montreal
  • Branch Address
  • Direct Payment Routing Number as: //CC0001NNNNN where N is the 5 digit branch transit number. Some financial institutions only require the 5 digit branch transit.
  • BMO SWIFT BIC Code: BOFMCAM2


For Payments from the USA:

  • Beneficiary account number, name, and address
  • 11 digit beneficiary branch transit and account number.  The branch transit is 4 digits and account number is 7 digits.
  • Beneficiary Bank: Bank of Montreal
  • Branch Address
  • BMO’s bank number: 001 and 5 digit transit number with branch address
  • BMO SWIFT BIC Code: BOFMCAM2
  • USD correspondent bank information
    • Pay through: Wells Fargo Bank (FKA Wachovia Bank)
      S.W.I.F.T BIC Code: PNBPUS3NNYC
      AND - Fedwire ABA: 026005092
      OR – CHIPS participant: 0509

Some financial institutions specifically require BMO’s beneficiary bank information in the format //CC0001NNNNN where the last 5 digits (N) is the branch transit number including region code

For Payments from Other Countries outside Canada or the USA:
 

  • Beneficiary account number, name, and address
  • 11 digit beneficiary branch transit and account number.  The branch transit is 4 digits and account number is 7 digits.
  • Beneficiary Bank: Bank of Montreal
  • Branch Address
  • BMO SWIFT BIC Code: BOFMCAM2
