Do RSA SecurID tokens expire?

RSA SecurID tokens expire 5 years from the time they’re issued. 

Here’s how to check your token’s expiry date:

Hard token
If you use a physical hard token, look on the back of the device for the expiry date (MM/DD/YY). We’ll send your new hard token 2-4 weeks before the expiry date. 
 

Soft token
If you use a soft token, here’s where you can find its expiry date:
 

Windows & Mac OS

  1. Open the RSA application.
  2. Select Options.
  3. Select Manage Token.
  4. Select Token Information.
     

iPhone

  1. Open the RSA app.
  2. Enter your PIN.
  3. In the bottom right corner, select the information icon.
     

Android

  1. Open the RSA app.
  2. At the top right of the screen, select the information icon.
     

Before your token’s expiry date, you’ll receive two emails from us:

  • “It’s time to replace your BMO soft token – installation file included”
  • “Your replacement BMO soft token: Import Password”
