How do I install my BMO DepositEdge scanner on Windows?

If you have administrator rights on your Windows computer, you can install and register your DepositEdge scanner.

Step 1: Install scanner software

Download your DepositEdge installation package:


How to check if your system uses a 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows
 

  1. In your “Downloads” folder, open WebScanInstaller.exe.
    Note: If a standard Windows confirmation message appears, select Yes.
  2. Confirm that you want to start the installation by selecting Yes.
  3. In the WebScan Installer, select Start.

Success! When you see "Result = Success" in the WebScan Installer, it means you’ve automatically installed all required software on your computer. You can now close the WebScan Installer. If you see a WebScan message at this point, you can safely ignore it.

Note: If the general WebScan installation package doesn’t work for you, try one of these scanner specific installation files.

Next, we’ll register your scanner in DepositEdge.


Step 2: Re-register your scanner

Important: Each active user must re-register their scanner. If this step is skipped, the scanner will not work properly. 

  1. Plug your scanner in to your computer.
  2. Access BMO DepositEdge:
    • ​​​​​In Online Banking for Business, select the Payments & Receivables tab.
    • Under “DepositEdge", select BMO DepositEdge.
  3. Select the Registration tab.
  4. From the drop-down, select the new Webscan scanner.  Based on your scanner model, you should select either WebScan CX30 or WebScan TS-240.


     
  5. To save your scanner model, select Save Changes.
  6. In the “Scanner Host” field, enter “localhost”.
  7. Select Re-register.
  8. Close WebScan, DepositEdge and your browser. 
  9. Restart WebScan by double-clicking the icon on your desktop or searching for the program in your Start menu.

Note: If you unplug your scanner, you’ll have to re-register it again.
