How can I sign in if I don't have a valid mobile or work number?

We use phone verification to confirm your identity when you’re signing in for the first time or resetting your password. What is phone verification?

By default, we’ll send a one-time passcode to the phone number saved in your Online Banking for Business profile, but if you don’t have phone number, we’ll try another method of 2-step verification instead.

If you don’t have a valid mobile or work number saved in your profile, and you haven’t set up 2-step verification, you won’t be able to reset your password from the Sign In page.

However, we have solutions in place to help ensure you can continue accessing Online Banking for Business without disruption:

  • If you’re a Primary Customer Administrator (PCA) or Documentation Admin, please ask another PCA or Admin who has already signed in to reset your password for you. How to reset a user’s password

You’ll receive reset instructions and a temporary password via email.

  • If you’re a PCA and there are no other PCAs or Admins at your company to reset your password for you, please contact your BMO representative to request a temporary password.

  • If you’re a new Admin or user and you need to reset your password, your PCA/Admin can do it for you. You’ll receive reset instructions and a temporary password via email. How to reset a user’s password
